He’s laying face down on his back, playing Tetris on his staff. But she continues to help contain the yarn in its place, and rerolls the balls back up around her fist. Juleka remembers the mooncakes Marinette has brought into school before, but…those are for a different holiday, she thinks. “Oh, we’re supposed to start the new year with a freshly cleaned home!” Marinette answers. “There’s always a big cleaning frenzy, and my parents let me clean my own room so they don’t have to dig through my stuff, but…” “The usual stuff for this time of year,” Marinette says. “What’s going on?” Chat asks, dropping the posturing. She lifts herself out of the trapdoor slowly, and Juleka realizes then that Marinette is tired. “This isn’t a great time,” Marinette says. Marinette is her friend, but Juleka’s not allowed to say anything about it, she’s not allowed to jeopardize her identity. “Brought Tigress with me.” She approaches and waves to Marinette. “Just dropping by,” he answers, leaning on his baton.
